Heavy truck manufacturer SinoTruck has introduced three new truck models to the Ugandan market, a move expected to reshape the local trucking industry. The newly unveiled models—Howo X Max Tractor, Howo NX Cargo, and Howo M7 Light Cargo—are designed to cater to diverse client needs.

Speaking at the launch event, Mr. Caden Liu, General Manager of Double Q, the authorized distributor of SinoTruck in Uganda, emphasized that the trucks are tailored to meet the specific demands of Ugandan clients.

“These models have been customized to address efficiency and functionality for various industries, making them ideal for Uganda’s growing transport sector,” he noted.

The launch event also featured remarks from Benon Kajuna, Director in Charge of Transport at the Ministry of Works and Transport. He lauded the initiative but urged Double Q to prioritize quality and safety standards while ensuring a transfer of technical skills to Ugandan drivers.

“It’s crucial for distributors to not only supply reliable vehicles but also to build the capacity of our local drivers through training,” Kajuna stated.

The Howo X Max Tractor is built for heavy-duty operations, while the Howo NX Cargo is suited for general cargo transport. The Howo M7 Light Cargo Truck, on the other hand, targets small and medium enterprises needing reliable, fuel-efficient solutions.

The new truck models enter the market at a time when Uganda’s transport and logistics industry is expanding, driven by increasing trade volumes and infrastructure development.

SinoTruck’s offerings are expected to contribute to improving efficiency and reliability in the sector, giving businesses access to modernized transportation solutions.
